  • A big Step - In the right direction!

« I’ve grown up and lived in Brisbane so coming to Toowoomba was a big step, but I have really enjoyed my placement and would now consider working regionally. »

Alice Huang, University of Queensland Speech Pathology student, 27 Sep 2018

  • A really great opportunity!

« “As part of my placement, SQRH organised for me to shadow the hospital radiologist and pathologist. This was a great opportunity for me to be part of interprofessional learning and really added to my overall rural experience”. »

Marah Ludecke, UniSQ nursing student, 5 Sep 2018

  • I felt so welcome!

« “I had placements in a couple of rural towns – they were different but similar in that you are so welcomed to these communities, you’re involved in everything and you gain excellent clinical experience. The SQRH accommodation was really comfortable and the view from the backyard at Kingaroy was outstanding!” »

Emma Fletcher, UniSQ nursing student, 3 Oct 2018

  • A brilliant experience ...

« I have thoroughly enjoyed my clinical placement at Charleville and I’m grateful for the support of SQRH. To be honest I hadn’t thought about taking up a rural health career before coming out to Charleville but now I definitely would consider it. The experience was brilliant and incredibly diverse – I worked in wards, in the emergency department, attending visits with the nurse navigator, going to the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) base with ambulance staff and so much more. »

Andy Schouten, University of Queensland Nursing student, 27 Sep 2018
